Site location and context

Curral Velho islet is located off Boavista island ca. 500 m from southernmost tip. The marine IBA is a seaward extension around the Cape Verde shearwater breeding colony located in the islet and includes the nearshore around Boavista.

Key biodiversity

One species trigger IBA criteria at this Marine IBA. Seaward extensions around the breeding colony for Cape Verde Shearwater (NT) 66-311 individuals.
