Site location and context
A large river bordered by riverine forest, ponds, heathland
, orchards and arable fields.
The site is important for breeding herons and wintering waterbirds. Species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria:
Aythya nyroca (wintering).
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
The site has undergone much degradation, due to dam construction and afforestation with
Populus plantations. The current threat is tourism development.

International Partial310 ha of IBA covered by Private Reserve (310 ha). 273 ha of IBA covered by Special Protection Area (Iles du haut Rhone, 273 ha).
