Hvar Channel


Site description (2022 baseline):

Site location and context
The site encompasses the western part of the channel between the islands of Hvar and Brač, and is partly bordered by the Hvar coastline in the south and the coastline of Šolta and Brač to the north. The area is frequently used by seabirds including the Yelkouan shearwater.


Key biodiversity
The site includes a number of coastal SCI areas which include habitat types such as Posidonia beds, reefs, sandbanks, mudflats, sandflats, sea caves and large shallow inlets and bays.
