Huma He Nature Reserve


Site description (2009 baseline):

Site location and context
Located in Huma County. The Huma He is a tributary of the upper Heilongjiang River. The habitats in the IBA include hilly slopes, marshes and floodplains.

Key biodiversity

Non-bird biodiversity: Nationally protected plants include Panax ginseng, Pinus sylvestris and Acanthopanax senticosus. Animals include Alces alces, Martes zibellina and Vulpes vulpes.



Conservation responses/actions for key biodiversity
Established as a provincial-level nature reserve in 1982, and upgraded to a national nature reserve in 2004.
