Site location and context

The IBA includes Chang Haizi and Daqiao Shuiku, two small reservoirs in Huize County. The reservoirs and the nearby agricultural land are foraging and roosting sites of wintering Grus nigricollis.

Conservation responses/actions for key biodiversity

Established at the provincial level as Huize Chang Haizi and Daqiao Shuiku Nature Reserve (11,387 ha) in 1990, and upgraded to a national nature reserve in 2005.
