Site description (2000 baseline):

Site location and context
A complex of semi-natural deciduous forests, dominated by Quercus, Tilia and Carpinus with many caves, conifer forests and large open areas. Open areas comprise dry grassland, Calluna heaths and bare areas. Water-filled depressions and damp areas enrich the site. It is a military training area.



Key biodiversity
The site is important for species characteristic of heathlands. Species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria: Crex crex (passage).



Protected areas
National Low International None180 ha of IBA covered by Nature Reserve (Colbitzer Lindenwald NSG, 180 ha).
