Site description (2009 baseline):

Located in eastern Anhui Province. Huangfu Shan extends 10 km from north to south and 8 km from east to west. The IBA is the highest land in eastern Anhui, and has the best preserved forest ecosystem, with 72% forest cover.

Non-bird biodiversity: Nationally protected species include Kalopanax septemlobus and Ginkgo biloba. Animals include Hydropotes inermis.

Designated as a state forestry area in 1953, and established as a provincial-level nature reserve (3,600 ha) in 1982.
