Site description (2009 baseline):

Located on the borders of Shaanxi, Hubei and Sichuan provinces, on the ridges of the Ba Shan mountains. The vegetation appears to be subtropical, and forest cover is over 80%.

Non-bird biodiversity: No information.

Established as a provincial-level nature reserve in 2000.
