Site description (2000 baseline):

An area of fish-ponds with reeds Phragmites, ditches and wet meadows. One of only a small number of wetlands in Thüringen.

This is an important site for breeding wetland and passage waterbirds.

National Partial International HighIBA overlaps with Nature Reserve. IBA overlaps with Special Protection Area.
