Site description (2000 baseline):

A mountain area with deciduous and conifer forests, cliffs and rocky slopes, meadows, cultivated fields, peatbogs and rivers.

The site is important for breeding raptors, including Gypaetus barbatus.

High hunting and fishing pressure, and the development of recreation and sporting activities, such as off-road driving, are the main threats.
