Site location and context
An area of ponds, a river with riverine forest, cliffs and rocky slopes, conifer forests, and alpine meadows.



Key biodiversity
This is an important site for breeding mountain and forest species. The site is a major migratory bottleneck, where more than 20,000 raptors pass on a regular basis (including Pernis apivorus 10,000; Milvus migrans 20,000; Buteo buteo 20,000).



Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
High levels of tourism and hunting cause disturbance to breeding birds.



Protected areas
National High International None10,781 ha of IBA covered by Nature Reserve (Haute Chaîne du Jura, 10,781 ha). 300 ha of IBA covered by Hunting Reserve (300 ha).
