Site summary
The site boundary is based upon a seaward extension of 25 km around Hatuta'a to encompass high use and transit areas of IBA threshold numbers of Phoenix Petrel based upon a 2007 population estimate of 150 - 200 breeding pairs from Gangloff, B., Raust, P., Thibault, JC., and Bretagnolle, V. (2009) Notes on the Phoenix Petrel (Ptreodroma alba) from Hatuta'a Island, Marquesas. Waterbirds, 32(3): 453-458.
