Site description (2000 baseline):

Site location and context
An area of scrub, steppe-grassland and agricultural land situated in the north of Lanzarote, and interspersed with several urban developments.



Key biodiversity
The site is important for breeding steppic species and seabirds, and for migrant passerines. The area also provides feeding opportunities for raptors.



Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
Gravel extraction, urban expansion and illegal hunting pose threats to the site.



Protected areas
National Low International None40 ha of IBA covered by Natural Park (Archipiélago Chinijo, 9,112 ha).
