Site description (2003 baseline)
Describe as slightly and rather flat. Some of Kailolo people work as farmer and fisherman. Main comodities are clove and nutmeg.

Key biodiversity
Collecting Moluccan Scrubfowl Eulipoa wallacei eggs is one of Kailolo village income source. The people are trying to preserve the area as Moluccan Scrubfowl breeding site. Observation by Dr. Heij found that between April 1994 and March 1995 there were 41060 eggs harvested (Heij & Rompas 1997, BirdLife International 2001).The restricted-range bird Darkeye Flycatcher Myagra galeata, Ducula perscipillata and Ashy Flowerpecker Dicaeum vulneratum probably live in this area but need to be confirmed.

Non-bird biodiversity: Varanus indicus Hydrosaurus amboinensis (Heij & Rompas 1997, Hitipeuw & Tuhumury 1999 obs.pri.).
