Site description (2009 baseline)
Located along the east coast of Zhejiang, the IBA is a shallow bay in the southern estuary of the Qiantang Jiang river. It is the largest area of inter-tidal mudflats in Zhejiang, and there are many saline ponds adjacent to the coast.
