Area: 12 ha


Site description (1994 baseline)
A small, isolated island rising abruptly from the sea to 98 m, 6 km due east of the village of Nafun on the mainland. The island is uninhabited and now unused by man, although guano used to be extracted.

Key biodiversity
See box for key species. Phaethon aethereus breeds (probably at least 7 pairs).

Non-bird biodiversity: Invertebrates: the seabird tick Ornithodoros muesebecki occurs (endemic to islands of eastern Arabia).
