Site description (2000 baseline):
Site location and context
A mountainous area in the Sistema Bético. It is mostly covered by scrub and relict
Quercus woods. Some areas have been afforested with
Pinus. Human activities include the grazing of cattle and the collection of aromatic plants (`Other' land-use, below).
This is an important site for breeding raptors.
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
The main threats are from the intensification of cattle-farming, erosion and desertification, and the erection of wind-farms.
