Site description (1999 baseline):

Site location and context

This area is located between Kabupaten Kendal and Kabupaten Semarang around 21 km south-est of Semarang.

Key biodiversity

Non-bird biodiversity: Panthera pardus and Trachypithecus auratus (Nijman 1997, Anon 1998c).

Habitat and land use

A small isolated volcano with a good forest on its upper slopes (MacKinnon et.al.1982).

Pressure/threats to key biodiversity

Clearence forest for agriculture (MacKinnon et.al.1982)

Protected areas

1.8 ha of this area is declared as Nature Reserve based on GB No.36 Stbl. 43 on 4 February 1924 (Anon 1997, Anon 1998)
