Site description (2003 baseline)
The topography is hilly. The forest extends from altitude 200 m asl.

Key biodiversity
Five from six globally threatened species live in this area (Lesmana et.al. 2000). New discovery in this century for Wetar Ground-dove Gallicolumba hoedtii also from this area. Follow up survey is needed especially for Timor Black Pigeon Turacoena modesta, Timor Imperial Pigeon Ducula cineracea, Yellow-crested Cockatoo Cacatua sulphurea, Wetar Ground-dove Gallicolumba hoedtii and Timor Green Pigeon Treron psittacea. Two of new species for Timor Island is Black-eared Cuckoo Chrysococcyx osculans and Eyebrowed Thrush Turdus obscurus live in this area. This area is one of the most threatened site in Timor.
