Site location and context
This area is consists of Gunung Dempo and Bukit Dingin, which is located near the boider of Bengkulu and South Sumatra.
The area is includes in EBA 158 (Stattersfield et al 1998).
Non-bird biodiversity: Hylobates syndactylus is the primate in this area (Verbelen 2000).
Upper mountain forest, and lower mountain forest, but almost all the forest at the slopes of the mountain has been cutted for tea plantation and agriculture (small scale) (Anon 1995).
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
Firewood collection and deforestation.
The status of this area is Protected Forest based on SK GB No 6 and 8 on 21 October 1926. 38050 ha of this area (G. Dempo and Bukit Dingin) proposed as Nature Reserve (in National Conservation Plan for Indonesia).
