Site location and context
Gunung Aseupan (1211 m) is located around 17.3 km west of Pandeglang.
Non-bird biodiversity: Persbytis comata and Trachypithecus auratus (Nijman 1997)
Lowland rain forest in this area is in good condition. Although only few information already known from this site, but based on the good forest condition it is predicted that the site is important for biodiversity.
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
Deforestation and wild animal catchment activity (MacKinnon
et.al.1982).
Carita Recreation Park (95 ha) declared based on SK Menteri Pertanian No. 440/Kpts/Um/7/1978 (Anon 1997, Anon 1998).
