Area: 20,751 ha

Association BIOM

Site description (2005 baseline)
The area consists of two large carp fishpond complexes with well developed emergent and floating vegetation and wet pedunculate oak forests stretching from Cadavacki lug to Koska. The fishponds are important breeding areas for Whiskered Tern, Night Heron and Purple Heron and forests for Middle Spotted Woodpecker. Main threats are possible loss of carp fishponds due to abandonment of fish production, changes of water level in wet forests due to drainage, intensified forest management and excessive or illegal hunting.
