Site summary
A richly-structured agricultural landscape with small villages in the western part of the Central Plateau. The Niederried reservoir and the Petersinsel have water-fringe vegetation, marshy areas and alluvial forest. An important area for birds of open and semi-open landscapes, and for wintering ducks on the reservoir. The main threat is from agricultural intensification and fragmentation of the landscape as a result of road-building.
