Site location and context
The Grigne is a mountain complex located in the south-central Alps, on the east side of Lake Como, north of the town of Lecco. It includes broadleaved forests, alpine grasslands and rocky areas. The main land-uses are cattle-rearing and nature conservation.
An important site for
Milvus migrans and mountain bird species.
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
The most important threats are the reduction in traditional agricultural activities and the lack of management for conservation.
