Site description (2007 baseline)
The IBA comprises two component parts: an actively accreting low sand-dune system and a wide shingle-beach at Great Yarmouth, and the beach and fore-dune ridge at Winterton-Horsey dunes four miles to the north. Marram-grass Ammophila stabilizes the dune system, while grey hair-grass Corynephorus also covers large areas.
