Site description (2000 baseline)
A mainly agricultural area, with forestry plantations, urban areas and beaches. The exact delimitation of the area is not possible.

Key biodiversity
An important bottleneck site for raptors on spring migration. Total raptor numbers for 1993-1996 average 6,365 birds each spring (minimum 4,708 in 1996, maximum 9,515 in 1993) with numbers fluctuating according to prevailing winds. This is also a very important migration corridor for passerines with up to 225,000 passing per day, and up to 800,000 in a season. Species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria: Haliaeetus albicilla (max. 4, passage).
