Site description (2000 baseline):
Site location and context
A low limestone mountain situated between the town of Tatabánya and the River Danube. Deciduous oak
Quercus forests cover the lower slopes, with submontane forests of
Quercus,
Carpinus,
Fagus and karst scrub at higher altitudes.
An important area for raptors and other forest birds.
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
The main threat to the site is posed by intensive forestry practices. MME's local chapter is actively involved in the protection of raptors.
