Site description (2000 baseline):
Site location and context
Sea cliffs facing Isfjorden. There is shipping traffic (boats going to and from Longyearbyen). This site was named `Grumant' in he previous pan-European IBA inventory (Grimmett and Jones 1989).
Breeding seabirds include
Rissa tridactyla (10,000 pairs) and
Uria lomvia (20,000 individuals).
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
Possible effects of the shipping traffic on seabirds (`Other' threat) have not been investigated.
