Site description (2000 baseline):
Site location and context
A mountainous area in the Cordillera Cantábrica with limestone cliffs,
Quercus and
Fagus woodland, and alpine grasslands grazed by cattle. The site also includes five protected lakes.
This is an important site for cliff-nesting and forest species.
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
The main threats are from tourism, fires and quarrying.
