Site location and context
An area of deciduous woodlands, open fields, ponds, marshes, reedbeds (
Phragmites), rivers and riverine forest.
This is an important site for forest and wetland species.
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
Drainage of forest ponds, the intensification of forestry and the ploughing of meadows to convert them to arable land are the main threats.
