Site description (2000 baseline)
Large exotic conifer plantations on former heathland with several streams. Some heathland remains and there is one small area (9.5 ha) of natural Quercus forest.

Key biodiversity
The site holds high numbers of breeding raptors and woodpeckers. Several species listed on Annex I of the EC Birds Directive breed at the site, including Pernis apivorus, Caprimulgus europaeus, Alcedo atthis, Dryocopus martius, Lullula arborea and Lanius collurio.
