Site location and context
The IBA covers an area of flood-plain of the River Tisza, which is subject to occasional inundation, and includes areas of softwood flood-plain forest, meadows and oxbow lakes.
An important site for birds associated with flood-plain forest and wetland complexes. Breeding species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria:
Aythya nyroca (3-5 pairs).
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
The main threats to the IBA are drought and disturbance to birds.
