Site description (2000 baseline):

Site location and context
The IBA covers an area of flood-plain of the River Tisza, which is subject to occasional inundation, and includes areas of softwood flood-plain forest, meadows and oxbow lakes.



Key biodiversity
An important site for birds associated with flood-plain forest and wetland complexes. Breeding species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria: Aythya nyroca (3-5 pairs).



Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
The main threats to the IBA are drought and disturbance to birds.



Protected areas
National Partial International None600 ha of IBA covered by National Park (Kiskunsági, 53,429 ha).
