Site description (2001 baseline):
Site location and context
Flood-plain of the Iput' river between the villages of Unechi and Kholevichi, which is flooded during spring and contains many ox-bow lakes.
The IBA is the main feeding area for 25 pairs of Ciconia ciconia which breed in surrounding villages.
The IBA is in the zone of radioactive pollution from Chernobyl and there are plans to move the local populous.
Conservation responses/actions for key biodiversity
Unprotected.
