Flanders Moss and Lake of Menteith

Site location and context
The Lake of Menteith is a shallow water-body, with fringing reedbeds (Phragmites) in some bays. The nearby Flanders Moss is the largest remaining intact lowland raised mire in the UK, whose plant communities are relatively undisturbed. Human activities include peat extraction. The IBA is important for wintering waterbirds.
