Site description (2000 baseline):

Site location and context
A coastal area, rich in small valleys and chalk cliffs (inland as well as coastal). Vegetation cover is mainly maquis and coniferous woodland. The main land-uses are agriculture and tourism.



Key biodiversity
A notable breeding site for raptors.



Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
The main threats are the burning of vegetation, and disturbance to breeding raptors by free-climbers (very common in the area). A regional park was declared in the area but is not yet operative. LIPU has proposed that free-climbing in the area should be regulated.



Protected areas
National High International None3,750 ha of IBA covered by Regional Nature Park (Finale, 3,750 ha).
