Site description (2009 baseline)
Located in the south-west of Fangcheng County, including Zhenzhu Bay on the Bailong Peninsular, and the Chinese side of the Beilun estuary. The IBA includes a large area of mangroves, including 1,107 ha in Zhenzhu Bay which is the largest stand of mangroves in Guangxi, and 350 ha in the Beilun estuary. The western part of the Beilun Hekou Nature Reserve is adjacent to Vietnam.
Key biodiversity
Non-bird biodiversity: There are occasional sightings of Dugong dugon.
