Site location and context
A lake with reedbeds (
Phragmites), wet meadows, and alluvial forests.
The site is important for breeding and wintering waterbirds. Species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria:
Aythya nyroca (passage);
Haliaeetus albicilla (wintering).
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
Agriculture intensification, including the conversion of meadows to arable fields, and the development of recreation activities threaten the site.

International Partial1,100 ha of IBA covered by Special Protection Area (Etangs de la Woëvre: Etang de Madine, 1,100 ha). 1,100 ha of IBA covered by Hunting Reserve (1,100 ha).
