A shallow brackish lagoon and marshes surrounded by arable land and sclerophyllous scrub.

Key biodiversity

The site is important for wintering waterbirds.

Pressure/threats to key biodiversity

Water pollution due to fisheries, and hunting are threats.

Protected areas

National Partial International Partial1,300 ha of IBA covered by Hunting Reserve (Casabianda, 1,760 ha). 2,300 ha of IBA covered by Special Protection Area (Urbino, 2,300 ha).
