Site location and context
Lake and marshes, surrounded by woodland, grassland and arable land.
The area is important for breeding and wintering waterbirds.
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
The expansion and intensification of fish-farming is resulting in the construction of new dykes. Agricultural pollution also impacts on the site. Local authorities own the site and are trying to purchase the surrounding areas for conservation purposes.
