Estuary with streams, reedbeds (Phragmites), marshes and wet meadows, Quercus and Salix woodlands, mudflats, saltmarshes and peatbogs.

Recreational development in the area is one of the major threats.

National Low International None125 ha of IBA covered by Hunting Reserve (125 ha).
