Site location and context
An estuary with mudflats, marshes, reedbeds (
Phragmites), cliffs, wet meadows and arable fields.
The reedbeds are important for roosting passage and wintering passerines.
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
Water pollution from agricultural run-off is significant. Hunting pressure, including night hunting, is very high, and leads to disturbance.
