Site location and context
Extensive meadows in the Elbe valley with reeds Phragmites, scrub, flood-plain forest and Lake Schelldorf.



Key biodiversity
The site holds 20,000 or more waterbirds in winter, on a regular basis. Species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria: Crex crex (5-15 breeding pairs).



Protected areas
National Partial International NoneIBA overlaps with Nature Reserve (Bucher Brack-Bölsdorfer Haken, 1,000 ha).
