Site location and context
Peak of Gunung Egon and Gunung Meak connected by. There is some of hotsprings in Gunung Egon, including one near Egon Blindit village.



Key biodiversity
One of the richest area and important for Flores. This area is one of the 6 locations where Wallace's Hanging-parrot Loriculus flosculus live, the endemic bird of Flores and threatened by extinction. The feeding area of this species is tropical semi-evergreen forest, and the habitat is Lower monsoon mountain forest (Eucalyptus urophylla). Wallace's Scopsowl Otus silvicola is common in Eucalyptus forest (Trainor & Lesmana 2000).

Habitat and land use
Lower monsoon mountain forest dominated by Eucalyptus urophylla, tropical dry semi-evergreen forest and tropical dry deciduous forest (MacKinnon et.al. 1982, Trainor & Lesmana 2000).This area used for buffer zone of Marine Recreation Park.



Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
Timber cutting, road development plan and hunting activity (MacKinnon et.al.1982, Trainor & Lesmana 2000).



Protected areas
Proposed as a Hunting Park (15000 ha) on altitude between 500-1700 m (MacKinnon et.al.1982)
