Site description (2000 baseline):
Site location and context
An area of mountains, sea cliffs and gorges. Phrygana, maquis and sclerophyllous scrub dominate, with areas of
Abies forest. The main human activities are livestock-farming and hunting.
The site is an important corridor for migratory passerines and breeding and migrant raptors.
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
The main threats are land abandonment and hunting. Part of the area is a candidate SAC.

International None800 ha of IBA covered by Wildlife Refuge (Kourkoula/Molaon, 800 ha). 3,000 ha of IBA covered by Wildlife Refuge (Zarakos/Koupion-Kremasti-Richeas-Lambokampou, 3,000 ha).
