Site description (2000 baseline):
Site location and context
A mosaic of heathland, dry sandy grassland, wetland and ruderal land. Access to some areas is still restricted following years of use as a military training area. Human activities include extensive sheep-grazing.
Species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria:
Aythya nyroca (non-breeding) and
Crex crex (breeding).
National Partial
International High4,000 ha of IBA covered by Nature Reserve (Döberitzer Heide and Ferbitzer Bruch, 4,000 ha). IBA overlaps with Special Protection Area.
