IBA Justification

The site was identified as internationally important for bird conservation in 2006 because it was regularly supporting significant populations of the species listed below, meeting ('triggering') IBA criteria.

Populations meeting IBA criteria ('trigger species') at the site:
Species Red List Season (year/s of estimate) Size IBA criteria
Cinereous Vulture Aegypius monachus NT resident (1990–2006) 1–6 birds A1
European Roller Coracias garrulus LC breeding (2006) 5–70 birds A1
Rufous-naped Tit Periparus rufonuchalis LC resident (2006) 1–7 birds A3
Azure Tit Cyanistes cyanus LC breeding (2006) 1 adults A3
Hume's Lark Calandrella acutirostris LC breeding (2006) 1–8 birds A3
Sulphur-bellied Warbler Phylloscopus griseolus LC breeding (1973–2006) present A3
Wallcreeper Tichodroma muraria LC resident (2006) 1 birds A3

White-winged Grosbeak Mycerobas carnipes LC resident (2006) 1–4 birds A3
Red-fronted Serin Serinus pusillus LC resident (2006) 1 birds A3

IBA Conservation

Ideally the conservation status of the IBA will have been checked regularly since the site was first identified in 2006. The most recent assessment (2006) is shown below.
