Site location and context
A limestone canyon with
Populus plantations and
Salix and
Ulmus woodland along the river. The valley sides are covered by scrub and dry grasslands. The main human activities are hunting, forestry, agriculture and sheep-grazing.
An important site for cliff-nesting raptors and
Chersophilus duponti.
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
The main threat, particularly to
Chersophilus duponti, is the abandonment of traditional agricultural practice.
