Site description (2019 baseline)
Dukat is a medium height mountain in southeastern Serbia situated between the Dragovištica river branches, Bosilegrad town and Bulgarian border. It has the shape of a flat ridge at about 1,400 m above sea level. The highest peak is Crnook with 1881 m. It consists of crystalline shales and granite rocks and belongs to the Rhodope Mt chain. Deep valleys, scattered houses and villages, Beech forests and huge pastures and graslands are main landscape feathures. Two small municipalities share the IBA: Trgovište and Bosilegrad.
