Site location and context
This site, also known as Dayet El Ferd, lies south-east of the coastal town of Oran and just south of the town of Relizane, in the Monts des Beni-Chougran hills (part of the coastal Tell Atlas) at an altitude of about 700 m. There is no information available on the site’s habitats.
See Box for key species. There are recent records for both
Tadorna ferruginea and
Grus grus wintering in numbers exceeding IBA thresholds, but no further information is available. There were 300
Larus cachinnans wintering on the site in 1994.
