Site description (2009 baseline):

Located in the eastern part of Dunhua City, 20 km from the city itself. The IBA includes a natural lake and five reservoirs. It is a breeding and staging site for waterbirds, where over 100,000 individual birds are estimated to occur.

Non-bird biodiversity: There are records of Panthera tigris altaia, Panthera pardus, Felis lynx, Lutra lutra, Martes zibellina, Ursus arctos, Selenarctos thibetanus and Cervus nippon, but their numbers have declined in recent years.
